Just a quick note to share with you about the Hong Kong University Alumni Association ’s partnership programme with the Hong Kong Young Women ’s Christian Association (YWCA) - 愛長存人生紀念冊.
It was a territory-wide programme initiated by the YWCA last year. Over 30 HKUAA volunteers accomplished the programme in July/August 2010, finishing 16 memory books for the elders in Hong Kong Island East.
The Closing Ceremony of the programme (愛長存生死教育工作坊) was held on January 8, 2011 (Saturday) by the Elderly Services Section, YWCA, with HKUAA and other supporting groups including and 300 elders, participating. Our volunteers were the on-site helpers and one of our volunteer groups was selected to be one of the 3 outstanding groups to give its sharing on stage.
The weather is going to be cold in the next few days here and we shall continue to do what we can in our community.
