Service Title:
On my way to HKU
Hosting Organisation:
Service 100, The University of Hong Kong
Service Description:
On March 12, some 500 children (Primary 4 – 6) from various backgrounds, including grassroots and ethnic minorities, experienced HKU life with university students, staff and alumni who served as "tutors". The kids were also invited to blow out the candles on the HKU 100 birthday cake. They attended a mini High Table at Loke Yew Hall, learnt about earthquakes at the Geological Museum, and shared stories of HKU at tutorials and campus tour. HKU holds that no student should be deprived of the right to enter HKU because of financial resources and background. "On My Way to HKU" was organised to demonstrate to the underprivileged sectors that HKU's doors are wide open.
